Solitaire history

The progenitors of the Freecell Solitaire game can be called solitaire "Eight" and "Forty Bandits". These are also quite popular and no less interesting varieties of solitaire.

American amateur mathematician Martin Gardner promoted various mathematical puzzles, logic problems and games in the ways available to him at the time - through his books and articles. In 1968, he printed a solitaire game called Solitaire in Science and Life magazine. Paul Alfille changed the game slightly, updating a few rules to make it easier and more interesting to play.

Freecell Solitaire Rules

One of the most common rules, which is present in many solitaire games, is the possibility to build ascending sequences only taking into account the alternation of suit colors. This means that on a card of black suit (spades ♠ or clubs ♣) it is allowed to put a card of red suit only (i.e. diamonds or hearts ).

To play Freecell Solitaire for free online, you must take into account another rule describing how allowed to collect sequences of cards in columns - on the card can be put only the card whose value is strictly one less than the card above. The following rule fundamentally distinguishes Free Freecell Solitaire online from many other popular solitaire games - the laid out sequence of cards can not be dragged from one column to another column.
